Why I'm asking
Why this is personal
I've watched postpartum change what happens to women's education. I grew up inside my mom's daycare, which serves families other places overlook, and the women who raised me, my mothers, show me what real care looks like.
I've also worked with disabled and differently abled kids and seen how hard school makes it for them and their families. The thread running through all of it is people trying to learn, work, and build something while caring for someone, in a system that wasn't built for them.
I'm headed toward a PhD I'd be the first in my family to earn, and my research mixes chemistry and maternal health. I want to know how all of it fits together, and I want to make it easier for the next person!
